| Informative announcement |
Dear friend and colleagues!
The repeated voting of the second round of the presidential elections will take place on December 26, 2004. The prior two rounds of the elections indicated that misunderstanding and social conflicts become possible owing to the absence of free access to the objective information and also to the interactive communicative sites for the open communication of the citizens, who inhabit different regions of Ukraine. The potent Internet-holdings, which master developed interactive elements and web-resources of Ukrainian cities and regions, may effectively fulfill the role of such informational sites. The Institute of Society Transformation (IST) possesses and manages such Internet-holding, which comprise 37 websites (including 28 sites, which are dedicated to Ukrainian cities).
Taking the abovementioned into account, our company will cover and spread operational, objective and versatile information about the course of the presidential elections, counting of votes and events, which may occur after the voting. IST will grant Ukrainian citizens a possibility to state arguments in favor of their own choice, to exchange opinions.
We will act in the following way:
- We will set actual information about the course of voting from the Central election commission and polling stations, an intermediate and final results of counting of votes, the statements of the main offices of the presidential contenders, the results of the National exit poll, news, granted by Ukrainian and foreign information agencies, mass-media, communicators of the Institute of society transformation in Ukrainian cities etc on the central sites of the Internet-holding of the Institute of society transformation: on the portal “Presidential elections 2004: the people must know the truth” (www.vybory.osp-ua.info), on the informational and analytic site “KYIV” (www.kyiv.osp-ua.info), on the central site of the project “Ukrainian Cities on the Internet” (www.cityukraine.osp.com.ua) and on the sites of the participants of the project.
- We will grant the users of our web-resources the possibility to insert information, proposals, commentaries relative to the course of the presidential elections independently, using the mechanism of the Guest books (Do not keep silence!) of these three sites.
- We will form the digests of news about the course of elections and spread them within Internet (the base of dispatch of IST makes up three thousands e-mails).
- We will translate important statements about the course and results of voting into English; spread this information within Internet among the world’s community and international organizations.
We hope that you will act in the following way:
- Grant us trustworthy information about the events of the presidential elections, which occur in your cities, sending it to e-mail vybory@osp-ua.info.
- Express your observations, opinions, commentaries in the Guest books of the three-abovementioned sites.
Use our web-resources and receive reliable information from the relevant sources!
Do not keep silence, tell the truth, Your voice will be heard!
