| The situation becomes uncontrolled? |
Director of the Institute of Society Transformation Oleh Soskin predicts, that the 2003 will be extremely difficult in economic and financial sphere. He said, "there hasn’t ever been such a weak government, as the present one. This is a laymen’s government, it can’t cope with a crisis situation becoming uncontrolled. All the second half of December NBU sold its gold to support hryvnia (UAH)".
Concerning the future developments in the country, Mr. Soskin considers the following variant the most probable: "There will be the meeting of the CIS countries’ leaders in Ukraine where Kuchma would obtain a post of CIS leader, and then he can quietly go away in Russia. As there is a residence near Moscow at his disposal. Kuchma would resign before the situation worsens absolutely. And if it will take place at the end of January, there would be held Presidential elections within three months". Any person from the present President’s companions has no chances to become his successor considers Oleh Soskin. The falsification is possible, but it would be hard to make in conditions of economic collapse. Compromise between “the three”: Yushchenko, Lytvyn and Yanukovych is most probable. According to this scenario Yushchenko becomes the President, and the others keep their present posts. In Oleh Soskin’s opinion, this variant is being adjusted now. |
