| The UNCP held a picket at the State Tax Administration of Ukraine |
The Ukrainian National Conservative party (UNCP) held a picketing of the State Tax Administration of Ukraine to draw attention to the events involving Serhii Medvedchuk, head of the STA in Lviv oblast. This person has appeared in the center of a resonant political conflict, which has already exceeded the regional bounds. It is possible to predict, that the conflict will become even more aggravated in the nearest future transforming into not only all-Ukrainian, but international one.
Members and adherents of the party, which met near the State Tax Administration, unwrapped slogans: "Kravchenko, execute the decisions of Lviv regional council – dismiss S.Medvedchuk", "Kravchenko, if You have “esprit de corps” yet, dismiss S.Medvedchuk", "Kravchenko, prove, that the STAU is not a branch of the SDPU(u)!", "We demand to abolish identification numbers" etc.
Oleh Soskin, head of the UNCP, proclaimed an Open appeal of the party to Yu.Kravchenko, head of the STAU. The UNCP has addressed seven questions to Mr.Kravchenko in the appeal and offered to relieve Mr.Medvedchuk of his post and carry out complex, open, transparent investigation of his activity, and get national deputies of Ukraine, the MIA and the SBU representative, to take part in the investigation, which can be carried out under control of independent public organizations. O.Soskin, emphasized, that the moment of truth was coming. Actions of the STAU head will show to Ukrainian public, whether he is an ordinary puppet in hands of Kuchma and Medvedchuks, or independent figure not having lost esprit de corps.
Besides, the UNCP has called the STA to decide one more important issue. More and more Ukrainian people are offended with the procedure of granting them individual identification numbers. The UNCP has consistently and categorically struggled against this instrument for ciphering people and considers national shame the fact that this tool still exists. The UNCP demands from the STAU to develop the mechanism, which would enable faithful people to decide various matters of living, not meeting the necessity to show individual identification number.
In general the picketers laid down such demands to the STAU, and Mr.Kravchenko personally:
1. Relieve Mr.Medvedchuk of his post of the STA’s head in Lviv oblast.
2. Carry out open, transparent investigation of Mr.Medvedchuk’s activities with the national deputies of Ukraine, the MIA and the SBU representatives engaged.
3. Cancellation the system of individual identification numbers.
In general more than 150 members of the UNCP took part in the picketing, to which numerous citizens and visitors of Kyiv joined sharing the party’s demands to the STAU.
Priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv patriarchy carried out a prayer near the State Tax Administration to clear it from a sin during the picket, and wished the UNCP and its adherents success in their activities. |
