| THE COVERAGE OF THE COURSE OF VOTING AND COUNTING OF VOTES OF THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS OF UKRAINE |
Dear colleagues!
The second round of the presidential elections will take place on 21st November, 2004. The future of our country literally depends on them. To make the process of voting and estimation of its results democratic and civilized, it is necessary to grant every Ukrainian citizen a possibility of free will and open access to information. Potent Internet-holdings, which are capable to receive and spread reliable information about the course of voting in different regions and cities of Ukraine, will play an important role in this process.
Taking this into account, Internet-holding of the Institute of society information (36 resources), which entered the tenner of the most popular web-holdings of Ukraine owing to the coverage of the first round of the presidential elections (1st November – approximately 20 thousands of hosts, 75 thousands of hits per 24 hours), will cover the course of voting and counting of votes during the second round of the presidential elections of Ukraine since 21st November (from 20:00), during the night of 22nd November and further.
We will act in a following way:
- We will set relevant information about the course of voting from Central electoral committee and polling stations, intermediate and final results of counting of votes, the statements of main offices of presidential contenders, results of exit polls, news and information about violations, granted by Ukrainian and foreign information agencies, mass-media, communicators of the Institute of society transformation in Ukrainian cities (including the possibilities of guest-books) etc on the central sites of Internet-holding of IST: on the site “Presidential elections: the people must know the truth” (www.vybory.osp-ua.info), on an informational and analytic site “KYIV” (www.kyiv.osp.com.ua), on the central site of the project “Ukrainian Cities on the Internet” (www.cityukraine.osp.com.ua), www.soskin.info and sites of 27 cities of Ukraine (which are the participants of the mentioned project).
- We will form the digests of news about the course of elections (every 3 hours) and spread them within Internet (the base of dispatch of IST makes up 3 thousands e-mails).
- We will translate important statements about the course and results of voting into English, spread this information within Internet among the world’s community and international organizations.
- We will provide electors with the information concerning the appropriate filling of the bulletin, possible actions in case of complications (for instance, in case of the absence of the surname, wrong spelling of the personal data in the voting rolls etc.)
